Career Navideer®
For learners exploring careers and the education that gets them there.
Anthony L. DePass, Ph.D.
I’m a scientist, educator, and evaluator whose work has grown from studying cells to understanding how people develop. Today, I bring that experience to learning tools, institutions, and the stories I publish.
Scientist · Educator · Evaluator · Entrepreneur

I began in the laboratory. Teaching and research leadership led me to the people and institutions that make scientific careers possible.
Today I connect that experience with Understanding Interventions, DePass Academic Consulting, and Lifestyle Learning. My consulting includes evaluation, professional development, grant writing, and grantsmanship training for faculty and staff.
2026 NSF biosketch · PDFA framework for research and practice
CDI connects evidence about aspirations, exploration, development, decisions, alignment, and outcomes. It asks what we can understand about career development when these records are considered together.

The scientist & educatorCell biology to STEM development
My scientific work spans cell signaling and cancer biology. Teaching and national STEM initiatives led me to examine the institutional conditions that shape who enters science and how they develop.
Research into practiceUnderstanding & evaluating interventions
Understanding Interventions connects research with practice. DePass Academic Consulting helps institutions develop programs, evaluate results, and prepare proposals. Both ask what the evidence can tell us about the next decision.
Tony’s GuidePublisher, host & family historian
Tony’s Guide brings travel planning together with history and culture. Hosting the Little Lake House connects me to Center Hill Lake. Jamaican family research takes me into records, memory, and discovery.
St. Mary, Jamaica · 1817A story that is personal
Following Va, my great-grandmother, backward through the records led me to Marianne / Quasheba, an African-born ancestor recorded as having escaped enslavement in 1815. Read the family story and examine the original documents.
